Bayern München ‘were punished’ against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, according to Julian Nagelsmann.
Bayern München fell to their first competitive defeat under Julian Nagelsmann as Eintracht Frankfurt emerged victorious with a surprising 2-1 victory at Allianz Arena yesterday.
Speaking after the game, Nagelsmann rued missed chances and described the defeat as ‘totally avoidable’.
“Defeats always hurt. Today’s no exception,” the Bayern coach told reporters after the game.
“On the one hand, because it’s the first one and on the other hand, it was totally avoidable,” he added.
“We didn’t do some things right, just like in recent weeks, but our opponents didn’t take advantage of that. Today we were punished. Still, we had enough chances to score some goals.”
Despite their defeat, Bayern remain top of the table thanks to a better goal difference than second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, who have the same amount of points.
