BRITS have been flocking to the beach this weekend to catch sunny rays – and it’s going to get even warmer next week.
With warm spells of spring sunshine, there’s no surprise that beachgoers have chosen today to visit and soak it all up.
The Met Office have said that is a bright day for many with early showers fading as we move into the afternoon.
The nice weather in the south is only going to get better with even hotter temperatures predicted across the country next week.
Spring sunshine will show no sign of letting up with lovely warm weather on the horizon.
In southern parts of the country, temperatures could peak around 17C or 18C.
BBC weather forecaster Tomasz Schafernaker said: “Monday a much better day, the winds will be lighter there will be some sunshine around, still some showers around northern parts of the country but in the south it really is an improving picture and that’s how it is going to be over the next few days into next week.”
“In fact in the south of the country temperatures could peak around 17C or 18C. So a mixed weekend but better the week ahead.”
However, there are yellow weather warnings in some parts of the UK over this weekend – especially in coastal areas.
The Met Office have warned that windy weather with coastal gales and heavy rain will develop during Saturday afternoon.
Gusts in coastal areas could reach 50-55 mph and perhaps as high as 60 mph in the most exposed parts of Cornwall and southwest Wales.
Sunday is expected to be blustery right across the UK with weather warnings also in place in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Weather forecaster Jim Dale told the Express that the UK can expect hot weather to arrive “fairly early” this year.
He said he “wouldn’t be surprised to see 26C, 27C, 28C in the middle of April.”
